IVF ICSI Cycle 3: my personal notes from Stimms to 24 weeks pregnant with twins

A lot of people contact me asking what my symptoms have been at different stages from during IVF cycle to any stage in my pregnancy. I thought I would share my unedited notes with you that I have kept along the way on my phone.

Obviously this is just what I experienced and will not be the same for everyone.

Day 5 of gonal f scan

4 follicles on left 6 on right between about 6 and 9 ish mm

Day 9 gonal scan

10 follicles in total between 10 -14mm

Day 12 scan

Left follicle sizes: 20,19,18,16,14, 13,10,9

Right follicle sizes: 20,17,16,16,16, 10

Day 14 Egg Collection

17 eggs!

1 day after collection

12 have fertilised!!! Thank you God! Xx

2 days after collection

All 12 doing nicely

1 is 2 cell, some 4 cell, some 5 cell and 1 is 7 cell

5 day transfer

Had 2 blastocysts put back

2 snow babies on ice

Woke at 04:20 starving!!!

Bit nausea

Slight cramps, twinges, pinches

Headache on and off

Dizzy/floaty

Keep feeling really hungry

Tired

Woke at 04:50 starving and needing to pee

Everything same as yesterday

Mood a bit lower today. Feel kinda sad (may just be the 2ww worry)

Boobs not as full or painful

Bloated

Mild headache all afternoon

Boobs not as full but still tender to touch

10pm feel so so sick and headachy

Head Normal temp but body feels hot

I feel my skin looks nicer today and feels softer and smoother

Sooo bloated

Woke 05:12 for pee and starving

Wide awake

Had sarnie at 7am

So wide awake couldn't go back to sleep

Boobs same as yesterday

Feel like me skin looks really good today

Headache this morning

Feel so nauseous and acidic

Soooo bloated

Woke 03:17 and 05:18 to pee

Wide awake after 05:18 and didn't sleep until about 8 ish

Boobs don't hurt as much

Still nauseous and acidic

Usually been nauseous when not eating but today nauseous while eating too

Feint positive on 1st response (scared I shouldn't have tested when I swore I wouldn't)

Still nauseous

Boobs just tender

Tired

Woke at 5:17 and wide awake

Got Sunday lunch ready and made soup for the week at 6am

Feel more nauseous when hungry

Hungry a lot

Woke 5:10 am wide awake and needing a pee even tho didn't sleep till around 1am

Still nauseous

Still tender boobs,

Tired got into bed at 2 but couldn't sleep got back up then back to bed at 4:30

Cramps started about 4pm ish

Plus cramps evening and sharp stabbing pains

Feels like boobs on fire tonight

The cramps are in the evening

Sharp stabbing pains randomly through the day

4 weeks 6 days

Lots of cramping today in tummy (like period pains) and in back.

Upsetting me and freaking me out

5 weeks 4 days

Still cramping and twinges

Boobs feel bigger today

Nausea 24/7

No food appeals

First preggo puke this evening! Yay! Hahha

Stomach muscles feel like I've been working out when I move. Especially hurts when on my crutches (I broke my big toe)

5w 5days

Sore and crampy for few hrs this eve

Puked at 9:30pm

Sicky all day

Ate toast, toast with cheese & marmite, banana & some Tom soup

6 weeks

So nauseous this morning

Puked at lunchtime

Nothing gets rid of nausea

Fades slightly pm for a v short time the bad again late pm

Lower back ache

Vomited 10:30 and 11pm

Scan at 6 weeks 1 day!

It's twins!!!

Amazing clear scan. Both heartbeats great. A is 128bpm b is 117bbp

Week 6

Towards end of weeks 6 boobs not as tender and sickness not as consistent. Maybe just getting used to it?

6 weeks 6 days

Got paranoid so went for private scan

All great. Size consistent with date

A heartbeat now 140 an b 138

6 weeks 6 days and 7 weeks getting much more heaviness and crampy feeling. 7 weeks even pains in back and legs. Maybe when sitting a lot at work? Just stretching pains etc tho.

7 weeks

More cramping even ache in Lowe back and legs.

Feel quite sick again today

Approx 14 weeks

Got home from work and slept from 6:30pm to 7:30 am, waking 4 times for loo then straight back to sleep!

7 weeks 5 days

So dizzy, light headed and feint. Was on tube on way to work and had to get off tube and Andy come and bring me home cos felt like was gonna pass out.

7 weeks 6 days

Still bad spells of dizziness light eased. More headaches today

More crampiness today

8 weeks

Sick am

Light headed on and off

Felt normal for a long period today which made me nervous!

Had another private scan

Babies measuring 8 weeks an 8.1 (a) and heard heartbeats again!

Then felt really sick again about 3pm

8 weeks 3, 4 and 5 days

Crampy feelings a lot for these 2 days even but dull ache in back

8 weeks 6 days

Still not great with food but bit better. As long as its something I want to eat. Plain, dry food better. Like plain rice. Still can't bear the thought of spinach when usually love it.

Small amounts at a time. If eat whole meal will vom it up an hour later.

Some period of feeling quite normal which makes me nervous but then sickness returns.

The longer I leave it before eating the more sick I will feel

Really love satsumas and apples and apple and orange juice and hot ribena

Week 9

Didn't feel as sick

A bit I. The evening but don't think I vommited this week.

Not as tired

Lot more periods of feelin normal

Went for scan 9 weeks 1 day

Heartbeats even higher

9 weeks 5 days

Projectile vom returned this morning!

Feel better after that

Boobs feel more sore today

Cramps ish lower tummy

Xmas eve

Laying on sofa in evening felt lots of flutters on left side

16:15 pm babies moving around so much right now. Such a hard to explain feeling!

16 weeks

Boobs straying to hurt more than usual. Even without touching them.

I have an appetite and really want curry! I have had it for dinner for last 3 nights!

16 weeks 2 days (12:30am)

Vomiting again!

Squeezed right nip and pinhead size amount of yellow liquid appeard!

Approx 17 weeks

17 + 1

Still been feeling the kinda squirmy movements but tonight after my bath around 9:45pm I felt 3 little kicks on my left side where baby b is!

Vommiting bad again 11:45 tonight!

Week 19

Noticed belly button is more shallow

Got some leg cramps at night

Movement feels bit stronger and more often

20+ 2

Scan today was amazing

Saw both babies in grea detail, even their top lips and nostrils and full bladders

Good amount of wriggling while we were watching them too

Lots more movement tonight

Movements feel stronger Feeling them in morning and when in bed too and even while walking around in the day

21 weeks

Violent sneeze tonight and peed on floor!!!

23:50 laying on sofa, really strong " kicks " a lot. I'm sure Andy would feel from outside if he were awake!

Approx 21 weeks

Andy just felt our girl kick for first time! First time he defo felt any movement

Andy felt more movements tonight but in the middle

Was at nans yesterday and mum called to say doc been into nan today and she has shingles.

I called midwife as I never had chicken pox and she going to get lab to unfreeze my 9week bloods and check for immunity.

Gp arranged for me to have blood tests at hospital tomorrow

Midwife called, results back from bloods already. I'm immune!

Must had had them and never known!

Approx 22 weeks

Valentines day

In the bath and saw big movement on girls side! Called Andy and she stopped.

Later on sofa big movement in the middle once.

Lots more moves and kicks but not that you could see

Getting so hot at work even when it's freezing cold out

Andy finally saw our boy move twice! Been trying to catch it for days but they been stopping when Andy comes to look! He also felt our boy too. He has only felt our girl before now

Such bad back and side pain last cpl days. Can't get comfy any position

Honestly say for first time I feel fantastic today! Amazing! Despite only about 5 hrs sleep. Have some energy, not nauseous, not fatigued, not achey. Feel blooming.

Went to The Baby Show with mum today and bought some bits. Was testing a pillow using 2 dolls. Was so surreal but felt amazing!

Early hrs of am, leg cramp on left leg ahhhhh! Feel like baby girl on my left is under my ribs ouch!

Went shopping and bought their cots today and some other bits. Was so exciting. Can't wait till they built and in room now so can look at them and imagine them in them!

Feel like I have had a baby in my ribcage for the last few days. Ouch

Our cots were delivered today and Andy put them up while I was at work and sent me a picture. He said it was really emotional putting them together. This melted my heart. I was tearing up at work looking at the photo. When I can home and went in the babies room to look at them I cried. So emotional and amazing.
